We didn't have a run report writer this week but we did receive these lovely comments from Diane Mawer who visited our parkrun this week.

Thanks again for some wonderful hospitality when we visited you yesterday.

I've just posted a couple of photos - and the following 'report' - on the UK parkrun tourists Facebook page - and someone suggested that you might like to use some of it in your own run report - so here goes...

'So this weekend meant a trip to Manchester - with www, in this case, standing for the wonderful Worsley Woods parkrun - and event 41. A nearby hotel found us in the middle of picturesque Worsley itself - with the post-parkrun venue also perfectly situated alongside the Bridgewater canal. The engaging one-lap course, incorporating part of a disused railway line, became a delightful woodland 'charge' - with the sun glinting charmingly through the trees. A gradual climb, involving several flights of steps, all requiring a slightly different approach - and on a surface largely unaffected by the previous day's heavy rain - proved a highly enjoyable challenge - not least, because of my lack of GPS! What went up had to eventually come down, of course, with the 'race' to the finish an opportunity to go as flat out as I could, with the remnants of a chest infection - and providing a rewarding sub 25 finish. Our friendly hosts ensured that we found our way across from the car park for some well earned refreshments - and, as we expressed our thanks for another brilliant parkrun morning, they asked us to spread the word about their little gem of a parkrun - and, hopefully, I've now done just that'
