Earlier this year Alzheimer's Research UK became parkrun’s first official charity partner. Despite the fact that ARUK is the country’s leading dementia research charity, they have a smaller presence in running than many of the charities parkrun UK spoke with, and felt that their message of regular exercise throughout our lives having a positive impact on our brain health fitted extremely well with the parkrun ethos.
From this Saturday, the 10th of October, through to Saturday the 31st of October, parkrun will be inviting all parkrunners to support vital dementia research by backing ARUK’s Donate Your Time initiative.
On each of those Saturdays, Donate Your Time will encourage parkrunners to convert their finish time into a donation to the charity. The easiest way to donate will be through your results email, which will include a link you can click on to donate your time, or whatever amount you choose.
