When and why did you first choose to volunteer with parkrun?
Did my first volunteer role when I got an injury running and thought- what am I going to do now on a Saturday morning? Before I knew it my sister Carol had put my name down as a volunteer. I’ve now volunteered 80 times at Worsley Woods and loved every one of them (and run 246 times, trying to get to the magical 250 before my knees give up on me completely)
Which is your favourite volunteer role at parkrun
I don’t mind doing any as you get a buzz from doing any of them.
Although I’ve never volunteered for run director yet , think that’s a step too far for me.
What would you say to someone who is unsure if volunteering is for them?
Don’t worry about anything, all the volunteer roles might look scary but they aren’t. If I can do it anyone can and if anyone complains tell them they can have a free week next time.
What are you doing when you're not at parkrun
Either on a long holiday or away for the weekend...Or on lockdown
What song would be your parkrun anthem (either for volunteering or walk/jog/running)?
“Don’t stop me now” by Queen
